Snow in Namadgi
A quick and easy half day trip to see the snow
After hibernating all weekend due to the excessive cold, I was roused by Cassie’s arrival back from New York.
She had seen a lot of snow on the flight in and was keen to check it out. I had heard a lot about all the snow, but hadn’t managed to make a trip out to see it.
Conscious that it was late in the day and thus a lot may have melted, we were a bit unsure what we would find. We also didn’t have that much time before sunset, so we went for the close option of Square Rock.
We were a little worried at first given we didn’t see any snow on the drive out or in the carpark, but halfway through the hike we started to see snow laying on the ground, and it got thicker and thicker as we progressed up the track. As the sun dipped lower, it even started to gently snow again!
It was a great little trip, and we are both keen to try to see some more local snow later this season, weather permitting.
